In addition to our virgin material blending business TER Chemie restores expired, off-spec and contaminated chemical products back to near to prime status.

We offer our clients this service to restore their chemicals on any incident sites in ports or storage facilities. Or we can purchase batches of these off-grade materials in different states from you and restore and reprocess them ourselves.

Specializing in Linear Alpha Olefins and synthetic specialty lubricants we deploy various processing methods using different types of scrubbers, filters, distillation, sink or float separation equipment allow us to separate a large variety of contaminants fully from hazardous liquid chemicals. Our equipment and team is highly mobile and can be airlifted. We have pressure vessels suitable for 150.000.000 liters of hazardous higher density liquids in shore tanks or ship or smaller pressure vessels for handling tank containers, tank trucks or storage tanks.

One common and fast method is through filtration where we apply down to a 0.5 micron filter that removes even the tiniest particulate matter effectively under high pressure. In between these micron filters we can deploy various adsorbents such as activated carbon, activated alumina, ion exchange resins, various zeolites and other specialized molecular sieves that allow removal of contaminants such as (sea)water, aromatics, peroxides, epoxides, carbonyls, a variety of ions, minerals and soil.

Other options include separating them through flotation/sinking in specialized tanks, relying on gravity and time to perform the process. In rare cases for very high value chemistry in limited volume distillation may be effective.

Once the required separation process is completed the material is mixed into the required specification with new virgin materials or in some cases is further processed by us into other final products such as lubricants, metal working fluids, mining fluids or fluid stabilizers for ultra high pressure applications such as pipelines.
